19th Annual Oceania Customs Organisation (OCO) Conference
The 19 th OCO Annual Conference will be hosted by Guam on 2-5 May 2017. The theme for this
year’s conference is on “Data Analysis for Effective Border Management” that is consistent with
the World Customs Organisation International Customs Day theme for 2017.
The Conference will bring together 52 delegates representing the 23 Member Customs
Administrations of the Pacific island countries and territories including Australia and New
Zealand, and as well as representatives of the international and regional organisations and
development partners such as the World Bank, IMF, United Nations and the World Customs
Organisation.
Among the issues that will be covered during the Conference is the new 5-year OCO Strategic
Plan and a long-term funding strategy for OCO. The Conference will also provide a platform for
key partner organisations to share their experiences and conduct strategic discussions on the
key topics such as the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, data analysis for managing risk, and
building regional capability through strategic partnerships.
